Winter: People have skied in Crans-Montana for almost a century which means that the 160 km of runs that link the eternal snow of the Plaine-Morte Glacier (3000m) to the resort's centre have been enjoyed by skiers of all kinds and categories. Carving, skiing, snowboard, free ride, sledging, snow tubing, snow bike, 60 km of groomed winter hiking paths, 15 km snowshoe trails, 40 km of cross-country ski trials, ice-skating and curling offer a natural adventure in a snowy landscape. The 160kms of runs at Crans-Montana are 38 per cent beginner runs, 50 per cent intermediate and 12 per cent for advanced and expert skiers. Over 36,500 skiers per hour are serviced by 30 lifts at the resort, which has a longest run of 12kms.
Summer: Crans-Montana is also famous for its holes - the ones on the golf course. The European Masters is one of the top events in the Swiss calendar. The amazing Severiano Ballesteros (18-hole) and Jack Nicklaus (9-hole) golf courses boast a magical backdrop: a panoramic view from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc. 280 km of hiking routes extend between five mountain lakes and fragrant forests.
